The 3 Series has been among BMW India’s best sellers in the country. The previous generation (E90) kicked off the Bavarian automaker’s innings in India and quickly catapulted it to the top of the sales charts in the luxury space. It was only six years later – in 2012 – that BMW introduced the new generation of the 3 Series. BMW hasn’t reinvented the wheel with the new 3, they’ve simply tweaked the recipe to make it better. Have they succeeded?
Innova was launched in the Indian Market on February 24th, 2005. Ever since then, it has been crunching good sales figures for the Japanese carmaker. It replaced Toyota's workhorse, the Qualis and definitely had big boots to fill. Remaining unchanged mechanically since its inception, it has been using a 2.5-litre diesel mill that produces 100 bhp of power and it feels dated in front of its competition now. With the next generation Innova to be showcased at the Auto Expo, let’s have a look at what it has to offer.

In Comfort mode, the suspension damping is soft and you get a nice and comfortable ride. It softens bumps and undulations nicely and the suspension does its job silently. But the ride quality isn’t perfect. Sometimes, sharper undulations can still be felt inside the cabin, accompanied by a thud from the suspension, and after large bumps the suspension takes time to settle down. As a result, even inside the city, you constantly have some movement inside the cabin. We would have not been complaining about this, but the 5 and 7 series have such good suspension setups that they have raised our expectations from BMW.
Once connected, select the automobile icon via the mode button and then the CTEK charger will progress through a series of 6 yellow lights. The 7th light is green and means the BMW’s battery is fully charged and that the smart charger has gone into a maintenance phase where it will only charge if the battery’s voltage drops. It took thirteen hours for my M3 to reach the 7th light and will depend on the state of charge of your BMW Battery as to how long it will take. There is an 8th light which will light up if the battery needs a top off but it’s hard to catch seeing it on. Make sure the green power LED light is a solid green and that the line of yellow stage lights have begun lifting up or it’s not connected correctly.
The bodywork has been changed and the seat lowered, plus there are new aluminum handlebars and lighter wheels. If you want to take the F 800 R out for some sport touring, sport and touring side cases are available as options, along with a 7+ gallon top case.
