Closest auto parts store open now: Center Line zoning board nixes Rinke auto dealership expansion

Rinke wanted to display and sell new trucks on the east side of Van Dyke and use two existing commercial/office building for vehicle sales operation and auto parts storage. The dealership expansion called for two current one-story buildings -– a vacant medical office building at the southeast corner of Van Dyke and Sunburst avenues –- and the building next door that was formerly home to an insurance and income tax office, to be demolished. The U.S. Post Office, the Hi-Lo Clippers Barber Shop next door and the nearby FPX Fuel Pump Express auto parts store will remain open.
